Quality Crystals and semi precious stones for spiritual healing gifts

You have just received your beautiful new crystal or semi precious stone and it now needs some tender loving preparation and care from you to enhance and customise its powerful energy especially for you and your surroundings.

When you first receive your crystal we suggest you cleanse it immediately especially if you are going to use your lovely crystal gift for healing, meditating and spiritual growth. The crystal has more than likely passed through many hands finding its way to you and may have collected others energies during its journey.

So, cleanse your crystal, recharge it and make a special dedication with lots of lovely positive energy.

Cleansing your crystals –

There are a number of methods you can use to cleanse your crystals and semi precious stones. No one method is superior to the other, so choose the method that best suits you.

Please be aware that some of the softer crystals should not be cleansed with salt or any abrasive substance as it may spoil the surface. If this happens it will not damage or harm the power of the crystal’s metaphysical properties. Also some of the softer crystals such as Selenite should never be cleansed with water. If you are not sure, use a dry method -

Here are a few cleaning examples:

Run your crystal under flowing water, such as a spring, river or lake. Running under tap water is just as effective; however it is best to filter the tap water first to remove any impurities. Water is used universally as a cleaner and is very effective in removing negative and undesirable energies that your crystal may have absorbed.

Take your crystal to the beach and allow the sea water to wash over the crystal. Then re-energise your crystal by placing it in the sun or another method as shown in “Charging and re-energising your crystal”

Use the cleansing smoke of purifying herbs or incense. This is “smudging” and one of the easiest and pleasant aromatic methods to cleanse your crystals. Pass the stone through the smoke until you feel that the crystal is clear. These powerful herbs have been used for centuries – sandalwood, frankincense, juniper and sage. Use the one that you feel works best for you.

If you have access to lovely flowers then surround your crystal with flowers for 24 hours. This dispels and melts away all negativity and cleanses your stone with the purity and energy of the flower. Suggested flowers include rose petals, honeysuckle and orange blossom.

Simply place your crystal amongst dry sea salt. Make sure the sea salt does not have any additional ingredients. This removes the negative energy that may be trapped in your crystal. Make sure you throw the salt away when you have finished.

You can also visualise a clear bright light around the crystal and have it in mind the negative energy being replaced by good positive energy full of light and love. This does require you to concentrate uninterrupted and powerfully.

Or you can simply –

Place your crystal on a larger crystal quartz cluster (clear quartz, amethyst, smoky quartz, citrine or the like) for 12 – 24 hours. This will activate the properties of your crystal and increase its energy. Quartz clusters are known as natural energisers.

Get into the habit of cleaning your crystals and don’t forget the ones you have decorating your home.
